The photographs in this series capture shapes and patterns found tucked in laneways, beneath underpasses, or hidden in plain sight on busy streets. Some of these might resemble a recognizable object or symbol, similar to a Rorschach test or finding shapes in drifting clouds. Some are the result of covering unwanted graffiti with paint that doesn't quite match the underlying coat, creating unintended abstract street art produced collaboratively between tagger and graffiti remover, in a process brilliantly explored in Matt McCormick's 2002 experimental documentary, The Subconscious Art of Graffiti Removal. All produce unexpected encounters of visual interest.
